ABOUT
The Great Sandy Strait
The Great Sandy Strait separates the Queensland mainland from K'gari (Fraser Island), running for around 70 kilometres of sheltered, tide-fed water. Sitting inside the Great Sandy Marine Park, it's calm enough for day-to-day boating and connected enough for real cruising range, with Hervey Bay's open water and whale season close by.
The marina sits at the northern end of Urangan Harbour, gated and on the doorstep of the strait, giving berth holders straightforward access in and out without the swell you'd get further along the coast.
Charters and tours
A number of berth holders run whale watching, fishing and charter tours straight out of the marina, with the boat club and tourist terminal right alongside. If you're after charter or tour information, get in touch and we'll point you the right way.
